Now this has got to be the biggest coup from Channel 4 in recent years. Sky One has bought the rights to seasons 3 and 4 of Lost from Channel 4 for around £20m, this is big because Lost was the ratings puller for Channel 4 when Big Brother wasnt on so they will have to find something big to replace it and what have they got to replace it…Ugly Betty a series Produced by Salma Hayek…Big in US but Who knows over here?
The show, which follows a band of air crash survivors on a desert island, is thought to have cost the channel £20m, reports trade paper Broadcast.
“We’re absolutely thrilled,” said Sky One’s director of programmes, Richard Woolfe, who said the cult drama had been the “envy of every network”.
When Lost premiered on Channel 4 in 2005, it attracted six million viewers.
However, audiences for the second series have been lower - averaging around 2.8 million, and dropping as low as 1.9 million.
The Most interesting point about the article there is they mention they want to air it as close to the US as possible…woah we could be having Season 3 in UK very soon then!!!

October 22, 2006 @ 11:59 amThis is bad. I like channel4, they have good ideas about broadcasting. It’s a shame sky got Lost, but it wouldn’t suprise me if next year channel4 have filled the gap with a new show, and a lot of people will forget about the island… and the numbers… and whats-his-name…
Incidentally, I just download the episodes. And so far, series 3 has been a bit disapointing.
